How to Carry Your EDC with Tulster Holsters

Big thank you up front to Tulster for sending out holsters so we could walk through the different ways to carry your everyday carry. First up is how I actually carry: appendix inside the waistband. The first option is a simple single-clip Tulster with what we call a claw or wedge — I had a P365 X-Macro in it. That claw pokes into your waistband and pushes back on the grip module so the gun doesn't print. Shirt down, you can see nothing. Very lightweight, very unobtrusive; it's probably my third favorite way to carry.

Second favorite: the two-clip system with no claw — about the most minimalist setup you can run. We had a Tulster with a Canik MC9 in there, and because that gun is so small, you can't tell I'm carrying at all. Fair warning though: run the extended 21-round mags in a gun like the X-Macro and you're going to print no matter what your setup is.

My favorite is the wing or spread-style holster — we showed it with the Sig P365 Fuse. You've got a claw plus hooks spread across two points of your belt, so the weight distributes across your midline instead of dragging down one spot. It almost feels like I don't have it on at all. Position matters: straddle the buckle and shift slightly to your side so when you sit down the gun drops into that crease instead of jamming into your pelvic bone — or your junk. There are winged versions that carry a spare mag too, but this one gives you the spread without the extra weight on your stomach.

For the open carriers: the paddle holster, shown with a P320 X5, slides over your belt with edges that catch so the holster stays put on the draw. Super comfortable — it doesn't affect you at all — and very fast to access. The trade-off is real, though: your gun is exposed to the world with just click retention, so anybody could walk up behind you and grab it. I open carry occasionally, mostly hauling guns to and from the ranch. There are also belt-loop OWB holsters that ride higher and hide under a jacket.

Last method: crossbody and fanny pack bags. We've reviewed a pile of them — the Marshall by GRAB, 945 Industries, ACETAC — and I was rocking an M-Tac bag here with an X-Macro inside. Good compartments that keep your stuff from tangling with your firearm, and the zippers are very, very good — they did not skimp there. I like the button up top that keeps the pull tab from dangling. If you're in gym shorts or sweats with no belt, this is honestly not a bad way to carry.

One more thing on appendix: it takes practice. If you're not bringing your shirt up the correct way on the draw, you're going to suffer. I'm not 100% the smoothest with it myself, but with just a little bit of speed you're fine. The belt under all of this was my literal everyday carry Nexbelt ratchet belt — worn daily for about a year, doesn't fold or bend, still going strong.
