EDC Gear Review — G.R.A.B. Gunslinger Fanny Pack and Arrowhead Tactical Carrier Shorts

We're not at the ranch today — we're in my living room in Miami covering two everyday carry pieces: the Arrowhead Tactical carrier shorts I'm literally wearing on my way to the gym, and a fanny pack from G.R.A.B. In transparency, both companies sent these out for us to try, and I'm glad they did, because we're always looking for new ways to conceal carry.

The Arrowhead shorts look like regular gym shorts from the outside, but the waistband is where the magic happens. Instead of belt loops on the outside, there's an adjustable retention belt running along the inside of a thick waistband — call it 1.75 to 2 inches. The belt is magnetic with a little hook attachment that latches on, and I tuck it under a loop so there's no metal pressing against my body at appendix. Right now I've got my P365 AXG Legion in a two-clip Legacy holster clipped in there, rigid, not sagging, tight to my body — and when my shirt drops, you can't see a thing. Shirt up, and it's up and out real quick.

The rest of the shorts hold up too: mesh webbing along the inseam for breathability — a blessing in this South Florida heat — two front pockets, a zippered back pocket, and drawstrings if you want to run them as plain athletic shorts without the retention belt. The material is super soft, similar feel to Municipal shorts if you've worn those. Price lands around what you'd pay for Nike or Adidas, which is a lot of value for shorts that can actually carry.

Now the G.R.A.B. bag. From the outside it's completely non-tactical: no MOLLE, no hook and loop, nothing. I'm not a fan of the around-the-waist fanny pack look, but worn crossbody — which is how I run it — it's just a normal bag. The party trick is the opening: no zippers, no drawstrings, just a pull tab powered by magnets. Confronted with a threat, one pull and it's wide open; push it back together and the magnets snap it closed. I've worn plenty of crossbody bags with the double-zipper-and-flap setup, and this is effortless by comparison. I've never seen anything like it.

Inside there's MOLLE loop on both faces. I ran a Vertx B.A.P. panel with my P365 X-Macro in an OWB paddle holster strapped through it, plus their mag carrier alongside so nothing shifts. Here's the kicker: because the bag sits at arm level, my hand is already right there when I pull the tab — I can genuinely draw from this faster than from my waistband. The front pocket keeps my wallet and earbuds from tangling with the draw, and a back sleeve holds my phone up near my chest.

The gripes are small. Around-the-waist fanny pack carry just isn't me — crossbody or nothing. And I'm still waiting on the velcro-backed holster I ordered to replace the B.A.P. setup, because specialty holster companies take six to eight weeks sometimes. But for grayman carry — a gun in my waistband and a gun on my chest with nobody the wiser — this combo is the way to go.
