Sig Sauer P365 X-Macro Review — Best Concealed Carry Gun Ever Made?

Today we're reviewing my everyday carry gun and what I think is the best everyday carry gun ever created: the Sig Sauer P365 X-Macro. I've actually got two of them, so we're covering both models, the customization, why it's the best carry gun for me — and yes, the couple of disadvantages, because there are a couple.

First up is the original X-Macro, the one on my person at all times, riding in a Bucks Holsters flex holster made right here in Florida. The headline is capacity: these magazines are 17-plus-one, and with the spare mag I carry that's 35 rounds sitting on my body at all times in a footprint I can almost cover with my hand. That's badass. This model has the integrated comp in the slide — honestly, I don't know quite about the function of it, I guess it helps a little, but it does look badass without aftermarket compensator protrusions hanging off the gun. It's cut for the Shield RMSC pattern, has a real beavertail to ride up into, a flat-face trigger, and a 1913 rail. I've added a True Precision gold barrel — a little flash nobody sees but you guys — and a Swampfox Sentinel on top, which I'm genuinely a fan of. It feeds on Hornady Critical Defense.

The second one tells you everything about why this platform is smart. Because the X-Macro is built around a modular fire control unit — same idea as the P320 and the Springfield Echelon — I took the slide assembly off a P365 XL I had no use for, dropped it onto an X-Macro grip module, and boom: a second X-Macro, basically the non-comped TacOps look. It wears a Romeo Zero I'm not in love with (a Sentinel is already on order for it), an aftermarket magwell, and swappable backstraps — mediums fit my hand perfectly. That gun lives in the get-home/active-shooter bag in my truck, next to an AR.

Now the disadvantages I promised. The Incog X holster I bought for it — I'm just going to say it — is not a good holster. Lots of reasons; I've already recorded that review and sat on it to give the thing a second chance, but it hasn't earned one. The Romeo Zero on the second build isn't my favorite optic either. And that integrated comp: neat looking, but I can't tell you it's actually doing much.

What makes the X-Macro special is that it's not just a carry gun. You're not losing anything on the grip, the slide is a bit longer, and you can genuinely put rounds down range with ease — so it works as home defense, truck gun, get-home gun, all of it. It's not like a 43X or a Hellcat where your pinky slips off the bottom. The only thing that comes close on grip feel is the Canik Mete MC9 with the extended 15-round mag.

Between the two of them, I've never had a misfire. Not one. They're extremely accurate, easy to maintain because the whole FCU lifts out for cleaning or trigger swaps, and endlessly customizable without buying a new gun. Which one do I carry? Honestly, the original — mostly because it's the one I've been shooting longest. Both are guns I'd put my life on.
