Sharps Bros X-Macro Grip Module Review: The Gas Pedals Aren't a Gimmick

This is the Sharps Bros aluminum grip module for the Sig P365 X-Macro — but what I built isn't an X-Macro. I dropped my P365 Fuse slide onto it, and I haven't seen anybody do that on camera yet. Full transparency before we go any further: I have a relationship with Sharps Bros and they sent this module out for me to check out. That said, you guys know how I do things around here — if it was junk, I'd just tell you. Spoiler: it's not.

The module is machined from billet 7075 aluminum and the machine work is absolutely perfect. You get an undercut trigger guard, finger grooves, a flared magwell, and a full pic rail up front. The grip runs about 0.13 inches wider than the stock module, and it fills the hand in a way factory polymer just doesn't — without giving up any concealability. I've got the completely blacked-out setup here, top to bottom, and I love that look. The grip panels are swappable too if black-on-black isn't your thing.

The headline feature is the ambidextrous thumb rests — gas pedals, whatever you want to call them. Your support thumb rides right on the pedal and it keeps that muzzle down under recoil. But here's the part that surprised me: the right-side pedal, the one that's supposedly for lefties, has become a great trigger-finger indexing point. When I'm off the trigger, my finger has an exact home now. I did not expect to love that as much as I do. It builds a consistency into your gun handling you didn't know you were missing. And if you're a lefty, you get all of that mirrored — you're weird for being a lefty, but whatever.

Fair warning on the install: the FCU drops in fine, but the retaining screw put up a fight. Take your time with it, don't force it, let it get seated, and everything lines up. Then it was out to Founders Shooting Club to see what the gas pedals actually do on live fire — and this thing just feels good. You can feel yourself steering the gun instead of holding on to it. Follow-up shots come back on target noticeably faster, and on camera you can see how much flatter it shoots than the stock version. The aluminum adds a little weight over factory polymer, and on a gun like this that's a feature — it settles the gun down and soaks up the snappiness. Combined with the wider grip, the whole package shoots bigger than it is.

On the carry side, the texture is in the Goldilocks zone. I've had it against my skin carrying appendix and it's comfortable — no rubbed-raw spots, no shredded shirts — but the second you get a full grip on the draw, it locks in, even with sweaty hands. The one real headache is holster compatibility. This module is wider and shaped differently than factory polymer, and it will not fit most standard X-Macro and Fuse holsters. My In-Cog X, my Tier 1, even my everyday Alpha Omega holster — none of them take it. Sharps Bros knows this and has a compatible-holsters page right on their site, so budget for one going in.

And the Fuse combo? It just works. The longer top end balances beautifully over the aluminum frame, and honestly I think I stumbled onto something here. If you've got a Fuse and you've been eyeing this module, don't let the X-Macro name stop you. Bottom line: this is the third Sharps Bros product I've run — fifth if you count the knives — and they're three for three. Beautiful machining, real functional upgrades, not just jewelry for your gun. If you want to turn your X-Macro or Fuse into something that shoots flatter and feels like a custom gun, this module belongs on your list.
