Lone Wolf Dawn P365 Slide (X-Macro Edition)

The gun we're featuring today has lived a few lives. It started out as a P365 XL about a year and a half or two ago, then we swapped the grip module to make it kind of a tac-ops version of the X-Macro. Today it gets the final piece: a Lone Wolf Dawn P365 XL slide riding on that X-Macro grip module, in a pretty cool looking FDE with an RMSC optic plate.

We tore the whole gun down in the workshop — every part disassembled, even the extractor out. YouTube's not very kind to us when we show work like that on camera, so you get the before and after. Side by side with the original XL slide that wore our Romeo Zero, the differences are easy to see: the Dawn's front serrations are deeper and longer, tapering up toward the top, and the rear serrations are similar in size but taper off at the end too. The diagonal cut is steeper than the XL's, and there's a nice little cutout with the Lone Wolf symbol on the back.

One heads-up from the build: the optic-cut screws on the OEM slide are different than what this Lone Wolf slide needs, so we had to go find larger screws before the optic went on. Not a big deal, but know that going in so your range day doesn't stall in the workshop.

Out on the range we carried it in our Grab Bag crossbody/fanny pack bag, since that's exactly how a lot of you are going to be carrying a gun like this. Put some lead on steel and — not bad at all. I loved watching this slide rock back and forth. The deeper texture on the serrations makes a real difference over the OEM slide, the lightning cuts look fantastic, and I think the color is absolutely perfect.

Bottom line: adding a Dawn slide to your P365 definitely gives it a sexier look, and I think it operates a little bit better altogether. Lone Wolf makes this version — the Dawn for the 365 XL — in a couple different colorways and options, so there's something to fit any build you're running.
