Carry one. Every day. I do now.
Medical is the piece of everyday carry we don't talk about enough, and I was at fault too — the most I ever had on me concealed carrying was a tourniquet. This little IFAK from Live The Creed fixes that in a very, very small package: tourniquet, QuikClot, gloves, bandages, all in top-of-the-line construction. It has been on my person every single day since it came in the mail.
/The Rundown
Today we're talking about something I've neglected in my personal life for a little while: this IFAK from Live The Creed. They caught my everyday carry video where I ran through everything I drag around with me — a basic first aid kit in the truck, a tourniquet — and said, hey, you should really think about carrying an IFAK every day. They sent this one out, and I couldn't have agreed with them more.
Here's where I was at: I've got a nice big IFAK on my ARC belt out on the range, and tourniquets in every single one of my bags and the truck. But when I'm concealed carrying in my everyday life, the most I ever had on me was a tourniquet, and that's it. This little guy solves that with a very small footprint.
Inside you've got a tourniquet, band-aids, bacitracin, a larger bandage, and on the other side a pair of gloves and QuikClot to stop the bleed. That is exactly the kind of stuff you're going to need if you're ever in a situation where you have to use your concealed carry weapon — or open carry, God bless you if you're in one of those states. The last thing you want is to be injured in a gunfight with paramedics some time away and no way to stop the bleed on yourself. This solves that in a very, very small package.
The build is what I've come to expect from these guys: double stitching across the whole thing, really nice Cordura fabric, a simple hook-and-loop closure, and MOLLE on the back so it goes right on your belt — or on your kit at the range or out with buddies. It comes in a couple colors; mine's black multicam and it's pretty cool looking. Everything from Live The Creed is extremely well made — this is the top of the line when it comes to individual first aid kits.
I highly suggest you go grab one. This is something I neglected for way, way too long, and I'm glad LTC kicked me into gear. They also make larger kits for duty or range days, and we've got a series coming up where we spend a lot of time on medical options — I'm not spoiling it yet, but stay tuned.
