The Marshall by GRAB Bags: Full Review

You guys have absolutely loved the crossbody and fanny pack videos, including the Showdown with the bags from ACETAC, 945 Industries, and GRAB Bags — so we're keeping that mojo going. This is the Marshall, the baby brother to the Gunslinger we looked at before. Two disclaimers up front: yes, GRAB Bags sent this out for me to look at, and no, they don't pay me to review it or be on the channel. Second disclaimer: do not try to put anything larger than a Glock 19 inside this bag. Ain't gonna happen. The Gunslinger can swallow some full-size guns; that's not what the Marshall is for, and the footprint is way, way smaller.

If you watched the Showdown, the GRAB bag won for best design, and it's because of this closure. The whole closing lip is magnetic the entire way around. There are no zippers to get caught, no tab to pull and pray. One little tab — pull it, boom, opens right up, and that's my Gucci Glock sitting in there. Close it, boom, sealed back up. It is super, super quick, and there are no fibers working their way into a zipper line to jam it up over time.

Inside, both walls are MOLLE with hook-and-loop, so you can set it up however you want: they make velcro-backed holsters you can order along with the bag — and CrossBreed also makes velcro-backed holsters if you want something they don't offer. A MOLLE holster or mag attachment works too. With a Glock 19 you're a little limited on leftover space, but if you're carrying something like a standard P365, there's room for an extra magazine attachment in there as well.

On the body, the strap is that soft seatbelt-style material instead of rigid nylon, and it's really pliable. One of my gripes with the bigger Gunslinger was that it tends to fall forward a little because of its size — this one's smaller, so you don't notice that nearly as much. There's controversy about which way to wear these; here's my correct answer: dominant-hand side up, strap over my right shoulder and under my left arm, so when I yank down with the left hand I'm coming straight across into the gun. Pull down, out — very quick. And there's a quick disconnect so it comes off your body fast. You can wear it around your waist too, fanny-pack style — it's slower to draw from there, and I'm not a fanny pack guy, but you do you.

People love to argue that carrying like this is slow compared to on-body. Guys, I've done it both ways — I don't see a difference. And look, I'm not the best at drawing from appendix or from the hip; I'm just an idiot on YouTube. If I can make this look easy, it's easy. And for the record, there was no magazine in the gun and it was not loaded — we don't play around with that.
