December EDC Update 2025 — Grab Bags Renegade, TacRig & More

It's time for another EDC update. We did November's kind of late in the month, so I stretched this one out a little — and December came in loaded. This is everything that's actually riding on me and in my bags right now, not shelf stuff.

First up, the Legion hydrate powders. Little packets, I'm a big fan of the fruit punch — magnesium, sodium, potassium, the works. I've tried pretty much all of the little packet powders out there and these are the best ones I've tasted by far. Showing them on camera just reminded me I'm about out and need to reorder.

You know I'm a flashlight guy, so I've started stashing a light in every crossbody and fanny pack bag in case I forget to throw one in my pocket. There's a thumb-sized E1 that lives in my gym bag — soft glow on one end, a shockingly bright beam for something that small. The one I've actually been carrying every day is the Firebird Electro Optics mini LEP. It's multi-purpose: right now it's set up with a pocket loop, but you can pull the center piece and swap on the included weapon light mount with push tabs or a pressure pad. This time of year, when it's getting dark early and I'm digging stuff out of the back of my truck, this thing is fantastic.

For range organization, I picked up a tool roll from Roaring Fire. Before this I'd just throw all my miscellaneous tools loose in my range bag. Now the hex drivers and my little AR tool sit in the fold-out, it rolls up, and it drops right in the bag. I also went through the Everlit Survival DryFAK — an IFAK built into a dry bag, so your med gear stays dry no matter the conditions. This thing is freaking loaded: gauze, ace bandage, abdominal pad, cold pack, space blanket, a CPR mask, trauma shears, and a whole tool pack. Roll it down, clip the carabiner in your truck, and you've got an all-weather IFAK ready to go.

Holster-wise, the Hidden Hybrid Holsters rig is back on for winter. That leather padding on the back makes it one of the most comfortable IWB holsters you can find — the flip side is that the open leather backing gets hot, so I don't wear it in the summer. This one's cut for the P365 X-Macro, which currently needs a cleaning because I threw that gun in a video a few weeks back and it landed face down with dirt all up in the barrel. Didn't break it, though.

The crossbody this month is the Grab Bag large Renegade in slate tan — style-wise my absolute favorite of the ones we've had on the channel. They swapped the old pull tab for a grippy leather strap, so you're not hunting for the tab anymore: just pull down and it's open. My P365 AXG Legion fits comfortably, the front pouch keeps keys and wallet away from the firearm, and honestly this version looks a lot less tactical. The back velcro pocket holds my new Toor collab knife in CPM M4 — probably one of the most beautiful knives I've ever carried, and sharper than hell.

And the star of the show: the TacRig hook-and-loop holster system inside that bag. The holster itself is modular — four little pull-tab attachment points snap it between a velcro panel for the crossbody, a plate that takes QLS and other major quick-detach platforms for a drop leg, IWB clips, and belt-loop OWB wings. I've been running the whole ecosystem for about three weeks with my Echelon and AXG Legion holsters, used every single version of it including out at the range, and I've had zero issues. Zero. If you carry in all of these ways, this is the system to have.
