Democrats Took Congress. What It Actually Means for Your Guns.
What This One's About
Last night was a blue wave and I'm not going to sugarcoat it. Democrats took the House. They took the Senate, at least 54 seats, by flipping Texas, Ohio, Maine, North Carolina, South Carolina, Iowa, and Kansas, which just sent its first Democrat to the Senate since 1932. The NRA says our rights are under "direct and immediate threat."
Half my feed is celebrating. The other half says the Second Amendment is finished. I don't think either is right. I spent the whole day going through results state by state to figure out what actually changes for you and your guns, and some of it's worse than the people celebrating understand, and some of it's better than the doom crowd is telling you.
The single most important date for gun owners isn't last night. It's four weeks from now, and almost nobody's talking about it.

The good news
Where I'm Coming From
results were as of Wednesday, Nov. 4, Alaska, Mississippi, and dozens of House races were still being counted, so seat totals can move. "My read" is labeled as my read every time it comes up: that the judge pipeline is the real federal loss, that Pennsylvania passes registration and red flag in its first session, that Herrera lost on Paxton and the border rather than guns, and that the Court protects the AR-15 after Wolford. The Uvalde County margin is from early returns. Nothing here is legal advice.
