Osight C vs Osight K — Olight Just Changed the Optic Game Again

We were chasing daylight in Pennsylvania for this one, but it was worth it — two brand new optics from Osight, the C and the K. If you caught our Osight SE review a month or two back, that was the first time Olight ever did a removable battery instead of their rechargeable hooded setup. Their customers wanted sideload batteries — something tried and true instead of new technology they had to worry about — and Olight heard them. The SE came first, and now the C and K follow it up.

The C model follows the Holosun C and RMR footprint. I ran it on our Canik Elite Combat with an RMR plate and there's no wiggle at all. The window is a decent size — I think it's 24x9, almost like the 507C window — and the multi-reticle system is the star: a 3 MOA dot inside a 32 MOA circle, and you can run the dot alone, the circle alone, or both together like I prefer. I love it for target acquisition. My podcast partner Don says circle dots are too distracting for him, but for me the extra stuff in the window doesn't affect me at all.

One thing Osight does better than anybody: the box. They give you replacement battery door screws — if I had a nickel for every time I lost one of those, I'd probably have a dollar — plus a whole myriad of mounting screws, 6-32s, 6-40s, M3s, 4-40s, and a tool. I end up using Osight screws when I'm mounting other companies' optics because they don't all come with the right stuff.

Glass on the C is crystal clear — no parallax, no distortion, no bluing, and no starburst at all. I have an astigmatism, had it laser corrected, and some optics still mess with me. Not this one. On steel at about 25 yards it did its job; honestly I had the brightness pumped a little too high for the shade I'd moved into, and that one's on me, not the optic. My shitty shooting aside, I really like this damn thing.

Then the K model, which we threw on our OG ported P365 X-Macro. Same story on the footprint — Holosun K, RMSC interchangeable — same great boxing, and it's about the size of the Osight SE except it's an open reflex sight with a 6 MOA dot. Some of you will say 6 MOA is too big, and past 25 or 50 yards I don't disagree, the dot starts covering your target. But on a concealed carry or home defense gun? Perfect use case. You put that dot on target fast. At 25 yards on a full torso steel target, shooting Critical Duty no less, I was dead center. Woo doggy.

Build is quality 7075 aluminum on these, with a CR1620 in the K and a CR1632 in the C. And you guys know I hate talking battery life numbers on optics — 75,000 hours, 100,000, whatever. Here's my real advice: if you carry the gun, check your optic every morning like I do — pick it up, make sure shake-awake comes on strong and isn't dimming. If it's a safe gun, check it every six months to a year.

For my own carry, I still prefer the enclosed SE on my Canik Prime, because I can just wipe the belly lint and dead skin off the glass. With these open emitters you've got to be a little more careful getting down inside there. But the C is staying in the optic-testing rotation and the K, I think, just earned a permanent home on the X-Macro.
