The Ultimate Gun Wall — Hold Up Displays 4x8 Slat Wall

We're in the studio today taking a look at what's behind me: our gun wall, brought to you by Hold Up Displays. This is their 4-foot by 8-foot slat wall, and it is an absolutely stellar freaking product. With this setup I can hold six rifles to the right, six rifles to the left, and I've got twelve pistols in the center — and I've still got guns missing that are out in other bags.

The hangers are the little details done right. They're super rugged and coated with a rubberized material so you're not scratching up your guns every time you rack one on or off. The system is completely modular too — they make a 4x4 panel, and you can add on to either end all the way up to 4x12. I just love how versatile it is; you can set it up any way you want.

The install: I'm not going to lie to you, I highly don't recommend trying to do it by yourself. I did, and I definitely could have used an extra pair of hands. Skill-wise though, if you can run a drill and read a level, you're good — that's genuinely all you need. I counted 134 screws going into this bad boy on a big blank wall, and with all this weight hanging on it, she's not going anywhere.

Beyond the guns, this wall carries the rest of the loadout. Our Zimo pouches are down below — those are adjustable-depth magazine holders, so you can dial them in to keep pistol or rifle mags tight, and we love Zimo so much the pouches themselves went up on display. The bigger hooks down low hold the Canik MC9 Prime case, a hat, the ballistic helmet, and a plate carrier. Slides right in, slides right out.

Now the honest talk: this is a display, not a safe. None of the guns on the wall are loaded, and obviously you don't want kids having access to guns this easily — this setup is for a home or environment where that's not a concern. I combine it with other methods: two safes, two lock boxes, and the wall, and I swap guns between them. The really expensive stuff and the survival gear and NODs stay locked up.

The 4x8 runs around $1,500. Before this I was rocking all kinds of different bags and boxes to keep everything in; now I've got a wall that organizes all of it, doubles as the backdrop for these videos, and — let's be honest — makes anyone who walks into the man cave stop dead.
